Double Indemnity is a much-admired gem that comes up a lot when listing top films in the noir genre. This one is a  masterpiece and it is flawless, it has everything; adultery, corruption, murder. It uses familiar Los Angeles locales quite effectively. As femme fatales go, Barbara Stanwyck’s Phyllis Dietrichson is it. Fred MacMurray is awesome! For those who are only familiar with his work from My Three Sons, this will be quite a change. Edward G. Robinson gives an amazing performance as well. This is another Billy Wilder gem! Make a list, he makes lots of them!!
